Am 5. September 2025, um 19 Uhr eröffnet das Rehmann-Museum die Ausstellung Disobedient Constellations. Sie rückt das leidenschaftliche Engagement und manchmal auch den Verlust für diejenigen in den Mittelpunkt, die Kunstwerke sammeln. Rund 35 Skulpturen und Objekte aus neun privaten Sammlungen werden durch die Sammelnden und die Kuratierenden mit feministischer und queerer Perspektive neuartig in Beziehung gesetzt. Dieser ungewohnte Blickwinkel ermöglicht es den Werken von 27 Kunstschaffenden, darunter Monica Bonvicini, Walter De Maria, Rainer Fetting, Ursi Luginbühl und George Sugarman, unter der gemeinsamen Kuration von Michael Hiltbrunner (Rehmann-Museum) und Nina Wakeford (Goldsmiths University of London) überraschende und ‘ungehorsame’ Konstellationen einzugehen. Die Ausstellung verspricht, etablierte Seh- und Denkweisen aufzubrechen und neue Dialoge zwischen den Werken zu initiieren.
Performance von Gregory Tara Hari
Gregory Tara Hari verhandelt in seiner aktuellsten Performance like a feather, die unscheinbare Signifikanz des Materials Feder. Er spannt dabei ein Netz von Anekdoten, historischen Ereignissen und aktuellen Debatten, und schafft so eine künstlerische Sprache, die oft im Gehör haften bleibt. like a feather ist ein Monolog der mit Sprachen und feinster Ironie spielt, und dabei auf subtile Weise unsere eigenen Verstrickungen mit der Geschichte auslotet.

On September 5, 2025, at 7 p.m., the Rehmann Museum will open the exhibition Disobedient Constellations. The exhibition focuses on the passionate commitment, and sometimes also the experience of loss, of those who collect works of art. Under the title "Disobedient Constellations", around 35 sculptures and objects from nine private collections will set in new relationships, following an exchange between the collectors and the curators on the dynamics of feminist and queer identification today. This unusual perspective allows the works of 27 artists, including Monica Bonvicini, Walter De Maria, Rainer Fetting, Ursi Luginbühl and George Sugarman, to enter into surprising and 'disobedient' constellations under the joint curation of Michael Hiltbrunner and Nina Wakeford. Through dialogues between works, the exhibition promises to break up established ways of seeing and thinking and even enable some works to release their unrecognised potential for disobedience.
Performance by Gregory Tara Hari
In his latest performance, like a feather, Gregory Tara Hari explores the inconspicuous significance of feathers as a material. He weaves together a web of anecdotes, historical events and current debates, creating an artistic language that often lingers in the ear. like a feather is a monologue that plays with language and subtle irony, subtly exploring our own entanglements with history.
Gregory Tara Hari lives and works in Paris.
